What is the food like?

We serve food found at pubs, restaurants, homes and the streets of Southeast Asia with the majority of the food coming from Thailand, and specifically from the North and Northeast of Thailand. We do not make "fusion" food here; everything has been researched, eaten, and/or prepared in the country of its origin prior to being put on the Pok Pok menu (exception: the Pok Pok Affogato which is an unabashed riff on the Vietnamese breakfast of coffee and fried donuts). If you'd like to see some of the dishes in their native land, please check us out on Facebook; there are a lot of photos there. Our menu changes seasonally, monthly or at whim. We do not serve staples like Penang Curry, but the food we do serve is very accessible to most people. We use local product when possible and practical. We do not use MSG. While we are not specifically vegetarian friendly, all our vegetarian dishes are either vegan or can be made vegan, and there are usually about a half dozen of those on the menu.

Do you accept reservations?

We accept reservations online for parties of up to 8 guests. Reservations are available during our lunch and dinner hours. Please click here to book a table. If your desired dining time is not available, we encourage you to dine at Pok Pok NW as a walk-in guest. 

To inquire about larger parties (8+) please email your request to reservations_nw@pokpokpdx.com.  We kindly advise large groups to refrain from booking multiple, small tables as we cannot guarantee adjacent seats.

 We limit reservation duration to 2 hours. Luckily, our very quick fire times mean that is almost always ample time to enjoy a leisurely meal. 

***Due to high demand we ask for a credit card to secure the reservation. A fee of $25 will be charged to the credit card if your reservation has been cancelled with less than 24 hours notice.  We apologize however, we are unable to accept phone or emailed requests for reservations. PLEASE NOTE:Reservations for the same day of business must be submitted by 9AM for lunch seating and 3PM for dinner seating. An automatic confirmation will follow if we are able to accept the request. Please verify that your reservation has been made and accepted for the correct day and date. 

What forms of payment do you accept? May we have separate checks?

We accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, Amex and cash. Sorry, we  are unable to accept checks, non-Pok Pok "gift"  or prepaid credit cards due to potential processing issues.

We politely decline requests  for separate checks. However, we can accept up to 3 credit cards per bill. We apply a $1 charge per card for each additional card. We thank you in advance for your understanding.

Is Pok Pok NW kid-friendly?

Yes, we have booster seats and high chairs. We do not have kid menus, but can work with you to find something appropriate. It is a tight space with lots of traffic, so keeping children seated will be necessary for safety's sake.

How about strollers?

Our dining room is quite cozy. As such, there are limited spaces which can accommodate strollers. 

Can I use my foreign driver's license to purchase alcohol?

No, we are unable to accept a foreign license. In accordance with the Oregon Liquor Control Commision and Oregon law, we are only able to accept the following IDs: valid US state issued ID card with a photo, a valid US state issued driver's license with a photo,  a valid passport or passport ID  card, or a valid US military ID card.  We apologize in advance, but recommend bringing a passport .

Does Pok Pok NW seat incomplete parties?

We will do our best to give incomplete parties accurate wait times, but, out of fairness to others, we ask that your complete party be present before sitting.

I have food allergies. Can Pok Pok NW accommodate me?

Yes, we provide a copy of our menu that identifies allergens upon request. Gluten, dairy, nut, soy and shellfish allergies are addressed on this menu. However, we do not prepare off-menu dishes specifically for individual dietary and allergic needs; this is simply not practical, nor in some cases possible. Sorry!

Does Pok Pok NW deliver?

Yes! We offer delivery through our partnership with Caviar, a mobile app and web-based ordering service. 

Is Pok Pok NW handicap-accessible?

Yes, our main dining room and patio areas are ADA compliant.

What is in your water?

Our drinking water is flavored with Pandanus leaf, as is done often in Northern Thailand, which gives it that toasted rice/vanilla/grassy flavor.

Do you offer free-range meats and organic produce?

We use local and natural products when possible and practical. Since we serve Southeast Asian food, organic produce is of limited availability in the product we use, due to our climate, and the fact that most Asian produce is not a commodity on the market. Free-range meats are generally priced beyond what our clients are willing to pay for the food we do serve. However, we do use natural meats and poultry in almost every instance, as well as wild caught prawns when available.

Do all Pok Pok properties accept the same gift cards?

Yes, though some cards look different, they are universally accepted at all properties.

Can I call and get my name on the wait list before I get there?

We place names on the waitlist for guests who are here in person. Out of fairness to others, we do not take names over the phone. Due to limited seating, and for the sake of fairness to other waiting guests, we will only seat complete parties once a wait has been established.

Can I bring my pets into Pok Pok NW?

We do not allow animals, aside from guide animals, in the seating areas of Pok Pok NW

Does Pok Pok NW have parking?

There is a great deal of on-street parking all around Pok Pok NW.  Please be respectful of our neighbors when choosing your parking space.
